Dior Fires Chief Designer, Galliano

I’m so torn on this decision. A large part of me is saying “Good for you guys!”. Nobody should get away with bigotry and general douchebaggy-ness just because they’re famous (take notes, Charlie Sheen!). And he certainly needed to face the consequences of what he did.

However, there is a part of me that finds this very upsetting. Galliano’s work on the Dior line is what sparked my interest in fashion. Season after season, his couture lines wowed me and took their place as my favorite line of the season. It will be interesting to see Dior without Galliano, but I’m scared it won’t be the same spectacle I fell in love with.

He has designed one more show with Dior, which is set to show on Friday. It’s not certain, however, whether this show will take place after the events of the last week. And next season will be a whole new ballgame.
